It seemed to me initially as a memoir, turned spooky (you gotta believe things that my nebulous mind dreams up :) ) towards the point where Alagappa disappears suddenly...and also his sudden disappearance from school. And, yeah, even O Henry came to my mind after I finished. A really nice post da!
