“There are no rights and wrongs. Only power…”

Sarkar touches heights of brilliance that few Indian cinema have managed to attain. With a stunning cast, brilliant music and excellent camera work, RGV has managed to elevate his directorial skills to deliver one of the most captivating movies I have ever seen. Both Bachans scintillate but its Bachan Jr who stood out, giving an almost perfect performance. I especially loved his last line, the “that’s what i want too..” one. Also commendable is the performance of Ravi Kale as the Sarkar’s lieutenant, Chander. The scene in which he and his goons beat up the college guy in the beginning of the movie, totally took my breath away. The flow of the movie was also good, not once boring the audience and yet without falling into any cliches. The realism with which the entire movie is potrayed is highly praiseworthy and takes the viewer on an emotional roller coaster ride, as we see the fall and the subsequent rise of Sarkar (oops! spoiler!).

This movie is a major achievement for RGV and the Indian movie industry as a whole and proves that we do have good movies among the Veer Zaras and Kya Kool Hai Hums.

What more can I say? Finally Max, a movie we can both be mad about.

BTW, u forgot 2 mention KK. Even in a very cliched & restricted role, this actor has shown his prowess. Hope he gets the well deserved success in this industry that has been denied to him solely for his ill-luck.

I think I ve already exhausted my set of words & expressions to praise this movie.

How could you NOT mention KK?!

The younger bachan was very good, yeah(though I must confess, I’m not an avid watcher of his movies, the last one was that all-singing, all-dancing whatsisname with rani et al). I still prefer Satya, somehow, but this is also very slick. Raising the bar for the great unwashed of bollywood, so to speak. Totally loved the nod to Godfather in the opening scene.. I regard that scene in the original as one of my all time favourites.

HOW could I have forgotten KK?? Loved KK especially in his intro scene. ‘Rakh!’. Wooo… It was so creepy.

    Some of my fav scenes:
    1. Chander ordering the henchman to break the college guy’s hands and legs.
    2. Sarkar’s hand as shown from the roof of the vehicle (also seen in the trailer).
    3. “Mein bhi yahi chahta hoon” - most fav scene. I loved Bachan Jr.
    4. Rashid’s death. Rashid also looked damn impressive. That expressionles face, even as he died. Reminded me of Kevin (Sin City).

Already wachted it 1.5 times and ready to watch it many more times. :)

Reminds me of the line by Voldemort in Philosopher’s Stone “There is no good and evil. There is only power…and those too weak to seek it.”

    Creepy!! :-o
